Have you ever had a piece of rhubarb pie?  If not, well here's your chance to plant, grow and bake your own!  Valentine Rhubarb is a sweet, low-acidic variety perfect for zesty sauces and pies that require less sugar.  Shiny bright green leaves bush out from the tender, plump, crimson red stalks.  These stalks are nutrient-packed with vitamin C, fiber and antioxidants.  Make tasty pies, jams and sauces with this incredible vegetable.  Valentine Rhubarb is noted for its good taste and looks!  Plant as a decorative feature in an open sunny place where there is fertile, moist, well-drained soil.  You can expect your Rhubarb to grow as tall as 2-3 feet tall as wide.  This winter-hardy, highly adaptable plant is suited for Hardiness Zones: 4-9

Planting Tips: Plant in fertile soil in early spring as soon as soil can be worked or in fall.  Dig a deep, wide hole and plant the crowns approximately 1"-2" deep allowing 4' between each plant in compost and topsoil.  Harvest the stalks the 2nd year of growth.  The leaves are poisonous if ingested.  Simply chop the leaves and throw away.  In the winter, the plant will die down to the ground.
